And now a little quiet time for the Evils, which is fortunate as dialogue pages are a lot quicker to produce than the crazy action pages I’m working on at the moment.

Happy final long weekend of the summer Canadians.  Sam has his 15 min interview with his kindergarten teacher on Wed, and then he starts all day school on Thursday.  He has form of questions and tests to fill out before he goes in, including write your name, cut on a dotted line (fortunately nursery school taught them excellent cutting skills), and draw a picture of himself.  As an artist, I find it sad that he generally doesn’t have much interest in drawing yet and I shall have to refrain from doing his homework for him :)

The vote incentive today is a little bit of silly Transformers I don’t know.

Evil is essentially debating with himself, and is losing.

Vote incentive:  Did this for a friend (hi D!) who needs a new name for her financial services company.  She’s not impressed with my suggestion as it’s not “professional” enough :P  Would you, or would you not give your money to a woman with this as a logo??  Money vampire.

I think I have to go re-watch the LOTR trilogy again.  I adore those movies but I couldn’t really get into The Hobbit in the same way, which apparently is pretty common.  I’m not even sure why, I quite like Martin Freeman.  Maybe it just doesn’t feel as epic??  I’ve read the book and seen the animated version (or one of them?) but didn’t feel the same apathy.  Huh.

I’m getting into the Christmas spirit (pre-Halloween of course) while designing Xmas stamps for this year :)  I’m still amazed I can come up with anything as I’ve been doing these for 4 or 5 years now.  If you’re into card making/scrapbooking check out Whiff of Joy because they love me.

Studio Dooomcat has a new t-shirt store on the Neatorama blog and we’re running a contest to celebrate!  To enter, visit the Bear Nuts Facebook page and tell us which tee design is your favourite.  Tuesday morning we’ll randomly pick three winners (I’ll literally write your names on little papers and let the boys pick, and then we’ll fight over who has to pick up the rest) and the awesome folks at Neatorama blog will send you a free shirt!  Because they’re awesome :)

And now back to fire and foreboding and subtle Star Wars references, or maybe not so subtle.  The vote incentive is a preview panel from an upcoming page of an Evil doing…something.  How’s that for descriptive writing?  I’m going to go binge on more Arrow season one eps :)

Ooops, I just noticed I forgot to include Lech’s bat in the firey pentacle of death, or Deaths.

It’s been like summer here for the past week.  I’d already put away all the boy’s shorts and tanks and had to dig some of that stuff back out.  We’re probably going to get a really early winter storm to make up for it.

Vote incentive, something a little bacony

And of course Evil doesn’t play well with others, eventually.  Like my twins will play well together for a little while and lull me into a false sense of “be able to get up and go do something somewhere” and then the biting starts.  Or my hair dryer ends up in the bath tub (plus Jim’s clippers and ALL the towels, and then two babies in their onesies).  The shampoo bottle went in the toilet and, curiously, the ACTUAL bath toys went in the sink.  5 soaked towels are really heavy.  AWESOME START TO THE DAY.

Zombies!  In time for Halloween there’s a new zombie tee (or old if you’re familiar with my Woot derby days) in my Soc 6 shop, or Neato (they really like zombies there).

Plus I have a new shirt on Woot that’s a little more kid friendly (though those zombies are pretty cute…) that I guess is sort of a cross between a penguin and my inept ninja in water wings.  Speaking of Unstealthy, I really want to start working on a new one and I have a few ideas and can’t narrow it down in a practical way… Perhaps I should poll you guys! :D

You can also get Unstealthiest Ninja 4 on a kid’s hoodie at Woot but only until Oct 10th.

And vote incentive: more cute Christmassy mice since all the Christmas stuff is at Costco and I gorged on a giant tin of seasonal short bread… so long diet! :)

Happy Thanksgiving to my Canuck friends and family!  Sam brought the plague home again and I was sick all weekend, fantastic!  I also baked a pie which I’d never attempted before.  It was okay but I can’t quite figure out what was lacking about it so I guess this calls for more experimentation.  Anyone have a sure-fire apple pie recipe?  I’ve found tons on line but some anecdotal experienced baker’s opinions would probably be more helpful :)

Happy Birthday Sam!  4 years now!  Start pulling your weight.  This lovely image is what Jim gave me when I asked him for a pic for Sam’s party invite… thank you muchly but the theme is pirates!  I’m going to hype up 10 kids on sugar and give them scissors and glue and see what happens!!  This will probably be the last party I throw at my house :)

Vote incentive:  I think it’s been a couple of years but I got a chance to do some Halloween costume sketches for the bears again so here’s Prozac: pop culture shame if you don’t know who this is :)

These have been really fun to draw but I probably won’t do all the bears as the show’s cast is like half female and I don’t have many suitable characters :)

Happy early Halloween guys!  Browncoat Prozac is aiming to misbehave…if that weren’t kind of out of character I suppose :)  Vote incentive for this week is the next one up to be Firefly-ed: Lech

I heard somewhere that there’s a possible Highlander remake in the works, which doesn’t at all surprise me… and could be potentially awesome in the right hands.  I’ll have to go see if those movies are on Netflix…

I have a couple of older Woot designs back again for a limited time (ends on Oct 31 at 12am CT)‘You Weren’t Invited’, otherwise known as my crazy cat lady shirt, and ‘The Princess and the Menagerie’ which earned me TWO complaints in it’s original comment section that it should be taken down immediately because it condoned bestiality… best feedback ever!

Plus for 48 hours only starting tomorrow you can get ‘Hiding in the Dark’ screen printed from Qwertee which is based in Ireland I believe but ships pretty much everywhere.  I totally want a creepy serial killer Waldo look and find book :D

Because everyone needs a demon eyed rhino minion to smash things for you.  Lech Jayne totally gets that.

Whedon and non-Whedon fans alike, what’s everyone’s opinion on ‘Agents of Shield’?  I feel like we’re all so critical now a days and it seems the majority feeling on the show is “meh.”  Perhaps unrealistic expectations is the problem, but I adore Coulson so go team short bus… Sky (Skye?) is totally annoying though.

Vote incentive:  Of course these characters suited Death best :)

Remembrance Day thanks to all those who’ve served, or who have families in the military.  Your time and sacrifice is immense and I feel bad that we don’t recognize your efforts more often.  Sam came home on Thursday with a poppy sticker and said they talked a bit about them in school but he was still pretty fuzzy on the whole concept, and I found myself at a loss about how to explain war and soldiers to a 4 year old…

A Monday morning stabbing!  Or afternoon, or whenever you read this :)

We had a great weekend!  Sam’s birthday party went off with no major loss of limbs, or sanity.  And we got to go -gasp- out!  We saw Thor with some awesome (and semi-awesome) people and I’m just wondering when Marvel’s going to give Loki his own movie??  Please??  Plus we’re going to see Eddie Izzard tonight for Jim’s birthday :)  Then the cold weather will likely set in and we’ll become shut-ins.  Tis the season.

4 new designs up on Soc6:  and ShirtWoot is selling Christmas cards with a couple of my designs (Candy Tiger!).  I keep thinking some year I’ll make holiday card sets… but I don’t.  Next year!

Next up in the Firefly costume vote incentives is Crack, whom I can’t picture ever consenting to being blasted into space…

Soooo Evil…  The growing horns are kind of an homage to Hellboy.  I was partly inspired to do this whole arc by a quick “HellEvil” sketch I did awhile back.  I love it when random sketches lead to crazy places :)

Some of our neighbors are already getting the Christmas lights strung up. Never bothered me before but now Sam’s old enough to wonder when we’re going to do that too so I can see my lack of festiveness (ie. lazy) is going to be challenged this year.

Vote incentive: next up is Evil in probably one of the more inappropriate guises…

Plus I just noticed Society6 is now offering kids and baby sizes and FREE shipping through Cyber Monday so I’ve posted one of my older kid friendly designs because my boys love penguins :)

Nerd’s making an early New Year’s res to nut up :)  Will he make it out alive???  How much dirt and crap is Evil1 dragging in his gut wound??  Any of you watch “The Blacklist”??  Last week’s cliff hanger was CRAZY!! What kind of segue was that???

Vote Incentive: colored Evil as Book.

Society6 has free shipping all day today (cause ‘Cyber Monday’ was totally in the bible) and they’ve recently added kids and baby sizes so check out the Dooomcat site here.

You can also check out the Neatorama Dooomcat site here for a couple of brand new designs:  ’My Angry Neighbor’ and ‘Boo Bites’.  We’re also doing a FREE SHIRT GIVEAWAY with Neato so head on over to the BN Facebook page and LIKE/SHARE the Dooomcat Neato-shop link, let us know which shirt is your fav, and we’ll randomly pick THREE free shirt winners on Tuesday.

Nerd’s new found sense of bad assness lasted nearly a whole page!  We’re also soooo close to 400, that’s a nice round number :)  In other less fun news, on Friday the furnace was making a rattling sound and the upstairs smelled burny.  The tech comes out to look at it and it’s just a loose bracket that’s holding up the motor.  It’s banging against the side and the friction is causing that wonderful smokey aroma.  And of course they don’t have any replacement parts on hand and it will be at least two business days to get one, most likely.  So that means no furnace ALL weekend.  Fortunately it’s not that cold this weekend, it could definitely be worse (we lost heat at our old condo years ago during a cold snap with a HIGH of -20.  I HATE drawing with gloves on.) This is rather crappy timing as we have three kind of sick and coughing kids (make that 4 with Jim) and they’re being stubborn about keeping their sweaters on :P  They’re being stubborn about EVERYTHING lately because they know better then me of course.  Soooo, I’m cold, kind of headachey, I can feel the plague cough coming, and my patience level is -100.

Shirt Woot is all Christmasy sales right with lots of my stuff available, including a brand new seasonal themed Unstealthiest Ninja:

And now you can get Candy Tiger on a tee:

You can also get Unstealthiest Ninja One and Three screen printed on tees for only $15 in the ShirtWoot top 20 sale, and Fire Ninja is also available in a really nice black hoodie with prints on both sides.  These sales end on Dec 16 at 12AM CT.  I have a couple prints coming up on Shirt Punch and Ript as well so hopefully if I have to buy a $%*& new furnace… it’ll be covered. :P

Continuing the Firefly costumes (it’s totally going to be Christmas before these Halloween images are done…) there’s only one choice to be Simon of course :)

400 pages!  Yay!  I originally would have expected to hit this mark a year ago probably but then life hands you unexpected, life altering, sticky little surprises.  As always, I blame the twins.  I still get comments and the occasional email about the BN schedule and as I do read everything but don’t often remember to comment, I thought I’d mention this again here while I thought of it: I’d LOVE to update twice a week again.  It would be nice to go back to M/W/F but it’s just not possible.  Paying work takes precedent, and of course raising the boys.  Sure Sam’s in all day kindergarten now but I’ve still got two at home and daycare for two is $$$.  I don’t sell enough t-shirts for that :)  Oh and book 3 (AND 4 since I’ve started onto my book 5 scripts now) will be delayed until I can devote some time to finishing off covers/extras/bonus comic/etc. Plus find the funds to print them; perhaps a Kickstarter or something in the new year. Bear with me (totally pun intended), but I’ll get to it when I can.  In the meantime, I’ve started writing some girly arcs :)

Vote incentive: Vanity is actually too small to reach the pilot controls…

Unstealthiest Ninja 5 now available at ShirtWoot!

If I had planned things better I could have tried to fit in some kind of light hearted arc for the holiday season… instead you get this :)  At least the Evils are toasty warm.

Today we’ll probably take down the tree that’s been driving me crazy for weeks since the kids won’t stay away from it.  I should take a picture before I do so everyone can see our wonderful decorating job (only about the top foot has stuff on it and the rest is pretty much bare.)  Even the “unbreakable” plastic ornaments couldn’t escape the carnage as the twins just ripped the tops off so I can’t hang them anymore.  I bought some cute owl shaped ornaments this year (they LOVE owls, seriously LOVE) and half of those are gone, the tops broken and little beaks chipped off.  hmpf.

A lighthearted wintery vote incentive then:

Splurt.  That last panel Nerd is one of my favorites :)

Today only on OtherTees you can get a screen print version of “Jack the Ripper”, which I would totally watch an animated Tim Burton version of… and today’s vote incentive is Dragons! Terribly inconvenienced dragons!  Tangentally related, I was watching the latest “How to Train Your Dragon 2″ trailer again and apparently Dreamworks did not want that rather large plot point/spoiler in said trailer.  Who edits the trailers then?  How did the studio not get final say?  It would definitely have had a bigger impact revealed in the movie, for me at least :P
