Ugh it’s still cold.  We had a bit of nice weather and then an ice storm a few days ago.  If I was still in school and got a snow day in April I’d be overjoyed.  Instead I’m bitching about nursery school being cancelled… life comes around I guess :)  It reminds me of that Office Depot back to school commercial with the “It’s the most wonderful day of the year!” Christmas music.  Makes me laugh every time I see it.

I’ve been reading a lot of Doctor Seuss lately: Things!

Since there was just a bit of confusion last week, that’s his hair curler.  I thought the power cord would give it away but I have been enlightened recently that not all vibrators run on batteries :)  And poor Gimp, never gets a break.

I realized I hadn’t updated the archive page in forever so that’s up now (it also has the title for the next arc on there for curious readers) and I wanted to show you guys this adorable Gay art by Seth, love your style!

Unstealthiest Ninja has also made a reappearance on the Woot chart so you can now get number 4: Flight School from Woot, and all three of the previous designs from Woot’s back catalogue.  Funnily enough, there’s been a few requests for an Unstealthiest Ninja webcomic, or children’s book… those sound like good ideas…. :)

Cheeky oranges.

As Beta pointed out I totally forgot the scratch marks  on Evil a couple of pages ago so in case the dialogue doesn’t give it away, they’re back now.  Perhaps I will  model Evil and Evil2 on my twins; the play nice together for a little while, and then the biting starts.

It’s been unseasonably cold here lately, and then today was unseasonably hot.  The babies were running around in diaper shirts and pudgy little legs.  I need to fence in my yard as they’re still going in opposite directions :(  And Sam doesn’t help by trying  to climb on everything.  Perhaps I should start a pool  on when we’re likely to experience our first emergency room visit :P

One of my old favorites, Cyberpunk Beat Down, is available now on my Society6 and Redbubble pages.

Lastly, a preview from another silly design in process: I loved these books when I was little!

The most yellow page ever!  And I love drawing Crack freaking out; it’s fun to try to come up with new ways of showing it.  I have no idea how long it would take to glue up a corn padded room.  Maybe I should have put him in a straight jacket…

I’ll be somewhere at the Ottawa Comic Con this weekend!  Probably leering at Nathan Fillion from afar :)  I don’t remember my artist alley booth # but drop by if you’re in the neighborhood!  It’s the only con I’ll get to do this year :(

Finished Waldo design from last week’s vote incentive.

I do have 2 shirts up this WED (the 8th) at Shirt Punch!  They’re available for 24 hours and then gone!

I guess it was about time I put more toilet humor in the strip :P

I’m prepping this update the week before since I’ll be out all weekend at the Ottawa con and probably asleep long before this goes live so hopefully I had a great time :)  It’s really nice to have a local con again (this would be year 2) as I don’t really get to travel much anymore between kids and the expense to go to US cons. Apparently the Calgary con is getting huge (perhaps too much!) so some day I’d love to go there.  If any of you are regulars to that one I’d really value your opinions on it!

Baby dragon! Happy late Mother’s Day!

Flanked by Evil is probably not a safe place to be…

Finally got to go see a movie last night!  First time since last summer I think??  Iron Man 3 was a blast though the bad guys were kind of a bit over the top perhaps.  I guess when your heros have super powers your villains are going to get a bit ridiculous at times.  I’ve already gotten an email from Amazon about the dvd being available for pre-order now so I suppose home release times are shortening?  Maybe in a few months I’ll get to watch Star Trek too :P

‘Date Night’ will be live on Shirt Punch this WED the 22nd for 24 hours only!  Poor Jayne never got the chance for any great romance.  I wonder what might have happened if the show got more seasons… oh wait, there was the brothel episode.

Sam got a bloody nose at the playground the other day when he walked behind a swing (a big plastic beast for older kids with developmental issues).  It took out another kid on the front pass; I guess everyone was having trouble judging how big a berth to give this thing.  Or the maybe the little girl was, Sam just went without looking.  That’s how he crosses roads too, parenting FAIL.

This kid’s having fun though :)

It’s been so hot lately I’ve been putting the twins down for naps in just their diapers.  Two days in a row I’ve gone up to get them and Owen is naked, his diaper in Evan’s crib (everything goes in Evan’s crib, all the pillows/toys/bedding is always in Evan’s crib when I get them up).  At least it was clean.  They do this silly thing where one seems to exhibit more prowess or interest in something and then the other surpasses him. Owen used to parrot nearly everything we said and Evan didn’t seem to have much interest in talking.  We assumed Owen would start talking sooner/better but the opposite proved true (Evan is especially masterful at “NO!”).  I’ve frequently had to pull Evan’s diaper back over his butt and stop him from pulling on the tabs but not Owen.  Figures he’d be the one to first achieve complete removal.  This is what my son does when he’s bored then :P

I totally forgot I did a podcast interview that you can check out here: Comics Coast to Coast Surprisingly we talked for almost an hour which ran into bedtime and Jim got to deal with that routine all by himself :)

I can’t remember if I posted this Crack hand yet- who remembers these??

ARG.  Lost my hard drive this past week and EVERYTHING on it.  I had backed up everything important (mostly) and then realized all the little things I would have to re-do.  Websites and bookmarks gone, ALL my presets in Photoshop plus brushes and fonts (most of which I hadn’t backed up and had to find again).  Plus I installed my husbands copy of PS 6 (I was using 4) which has a bunch of nit picky differences that annoy me and are hard to get used to.  The worst one is my scanner interface is messed up and I hate, HATE the only one that’s working. This page I had to re-color completely and I somehow managed to not back up random sporadic pages from what will be vol 3 so I have nearly 20 more pages to re-color when I find the time.

Week of RAGE.  Plus it’s been cold and rainy and I had to turn the furnace back on and dig out the twin’s footy pyjamas, in JUNE.  Blah.

Update:  Smore is up at Shirt.Woot :)  For a limited time you can get him on a tee, tank, or apron!  (He’ll still be available as a tee later but the price will go up).

Happy late Father’s Day guys!  I was going to draw something and post more timely on Facebook but I spent the day with a migraine and three screaming kids.  Still better than Mother’s Day when they all had tonsillitis! Sam made a card at nursery school with some questions that the teachers helped them fill out.  Under “My dad is _____ years old.” Sam put 73.  ”My daddy’s favourite things are: sleeping and working.”  Jim figures perhaps he should take some time off.

Now we’re up to the Origin of Nerd with lots of shenanigans to follow.  I’ve been too busy this past month to work on the next arc which is mostly just thumbnails at this point, but I’m looking forward to figuring out how this double Evil situation will go… the action scenes are slowly coming together and should be fun to draw :)  I also started reading GOT (now there’s a big time suck) since wikipediaing the Red Wedding a couple of weeks before it aired.  I didn’t feel like waiting months to see the next wedding so I’m caught up now and starting book 4.  HATE Cercei.

Latest WIP tee design is all Firefly again :)

Super hot today!  It’s been a kind of weird cold/wet spring/summer so far but today was a great day to sit naked in a kiddy pool and smush a chocolate ice cream cone on your chest/hair/everywhere.  The twins are two now and Owen promptly climbed out of his crib during the last two “nap” times.  I was hoping because they’re on the small side still that this wouldn’t happen for awhile yet, but no luck.  The fronts are off their cribs now and it’s after 9 pm (Sunday night) and I can still hear them babbling away up there.  They also didn’t nap today so it’s really late for them.  They better sleep in.

We found some of my old He-man and Ninja Turtle toys at my parent’s house.  I wonder if those old shows are on Netflicks.  Sam just started watching the 80’s Transformers and he loves Bumblebee.  He started with “Transformers: Rescuebots” which he loved, and then we watched a couple of “Transformers: Prime” which is pretty recent I guess and a little too dark.  I haven’t had regular cable for a long time so I’m missing all these shows when they come out.  Netflicks has been awesome for him though.  He’s currently obsessed with “The Magic School Bus” :)  He also loves the really dated “Spiderman and his Superfriends” which I’d never heard of before.

I think this is an old vote incentive: Bear Pile, but I put it on Soc6 and Redbubble as I know some of you liked it.  I’d like to do more silly poster images like these but it’s really hard to find the time these days :(

Finally finished thumb nailing the last arc in this Nerd “saga” and it’s 24 pages… this is going to take awhile!

We had a 2nd birthday party for the twins on Saturday, I’ll have to post an updated photo of them once I get my camera dumped.  I still can’t believe how old they are already.  Sam is off to all day kindergarten in Sept and my little preemies are talking back and giving my dirty looks.  The magic of babyhood is all gone :(  At least one of them is potty trained now.  What am I going to spend money on when I don’t have to buy a box of diapers every month??  Probably more food because they’re going to start shovelling it in any day now.

Vote incentive:  I’ve done a couple of flag draped bears in the last week to I thought I should include a colourful one :)

Now available on Shirt.Woot is the finished version of the Browncoat Crest.  I had to laugh at some of the comments as some people didn’t like the two T-rexes and I didn’t feel the need to explain away my borderline OCD issues with symmetry.  I realize I haven’t seen any tees for the “Two by two guys…”.  Unfortunately my stuff trends heavily towards cartoony/irreverent and I’m not sure I could come up with something ominous…

I can’t remember the last time I used narration boxes.

Jim is watching Sharknado right now and I don’t think I can compete with that awesomeness; we should all just give up now and admit to never topping that form of entertainment :)  Obvious shoe in for best Oscar???

I have yet to see a whole episode of “Honey Boo Boo”  (and I don’t think that’ll ever change) but I have to admit from the peripheral stuff I’ve seen and read, it seems like her mom is being pretty down to earth/practical about her daughter’s time in the spot light.  I’m seriously sick of this culture of profiting off your kids but hopefully she doesn’t end up another Amanda Bynes in a few years.  I wonder how those “John & Kate” kids are doing?…

This is probably the last week to get Unstealthiest Ninja 4 on Woot from the top 20 (afterwards it’ll be in the back catalogue and cost more).  Time to get started on a new one I guess :)

Vote incentive: Sushi Fish, the original version, now available as a tee or print on Soc6.

So close to 400!

So my parents were away for a couple of weeks and we went out to lunch with mom after they got back.  The twins were horrible, wouldn’t stay still, kept screaming if I put them in the booster chairs, had to keep walking around with them…etc. distraction techniques.  All annoyingly out of character, especially when the food arrived (grilled cheese and nuggets are not usually a hard sell).  Evan actually threw his sandwich back at me. Meanwhile, Sam keeps asking to go to the bathroom.  Sometimes he pees, usually he does nothing. Twins are finally eating, and then Owen takes Evan’s fry and tantrum ensues.  Sam asks to go to the bathroom again and Owen has pooped.  Jim left the diapers in the car and has to go get them, Evan’s climbing out of his seat again… I change Owen and try to sit down and maybe finish my now cold sandwich but it seems that diarrhea is not totally gone and Owen needs to be changed again.  Jim goes back out to the car because he only brought one diaper in for whatever reason (eye roll to end all eye rolls) and Sam wants to go to the bathroom for the fifth time, is half way there when I turn back to grab Owen who’s trying to run away from Nana… I hear the distinctive splatter of vomit behind me and feel some of it hit my pants.

Our server got a big tip indeed.

Vote incentive: little preview from an upcoming page. (totally “Tangled” inspired)

New condom ad from Durex made me cry :)  Jim lives in fear; the boys already like to play rough and there’s been a few incidents.  There’s also another great bear clip on Youtube now of a bear stealing a dumpster from behind a restaurant, in Colorado I think?  What I most love about this industrious bear is the unexpected way he drags the thing off, walking backwards on his hind legs (like people!).  You’d think pushing it would be easier.

More Jedi Nerd as I haven’t drawn him in costume in awhile :)

Chinch bugs… hate them.  I’ve had this new lawn less than a year now, and it was kept quite immaculate by the retired guy who sold us the house.  Literally all our new neighbours mentioned it was the best lawn on the street.  Took me less than a year to kill it :(  I’m perhaps being a little overdramatic; I’ve only killed about a quarter of it, plus some sun damage cause we don’t water enough.  Lawns are seriously time wasting and aggravating.

Vote incentive:  a fun Star Trek themed commission I did a few months back.

I think Prozac’s exasperated face is going to freeze that way.

I can’t believe summer’s almost over!  Sam starts school in less than two weeks (if the school is ready since the switch to all day kindergarten necessitated both local grade schools to renovate, and neither looks all that close to done).  I really can’t picture putting him on the bus the first time and just letting him go.  He can’t wipe himself efficiently yet for God’s sake :P  Fortunately his nursery school did have a bus field trip and watched the same safety video I did at that age, so he’s not completely unfamiliar with the concept.  We went down town today to try out a “city” bus and he found that fun.   It also happened to be pride parade day and I had no idea, so it was a very colourful walk down Elgin.

Vote incentive: small preview from pg 10 of this arc…toasty.

I also added a quick wallpaper of that last panel from the previous page as requested on the Wallpapers page.
