On vacation with Jim and the boys! As I’m prepping this update in advance, I hope we are all still alive and no one has strangled anyone yet. 4 hours in a plane with just my husband is tolerable, not sure how it will go with 3 kids, 2 of which have a thing about staying in their seats :( And while I’m being optimistic, hopefully I don’t come home burned to a crisp and ten pounds heavier…

We survived our first week long family vacation :) I only got a little burned (chest is peeling as I type this) and Owen got a wicked heat rash, and we’re all missing the beach… and we were away for Valentine’s Day so I didn’t have to deal with 3x the school valentines to hand out- bonus!

It’s a shame that snowball throwing is outlawed at schools, but not surprising. Wether it’s the hopefully unintended inclusion of rocks/ice pellets, or the unsportsman-like can’t take a hit whining, the school yard is not the place for it… and neither is my house! I’m soooo tired of refereeing snow ball fights where someone is crying cause they didn’t dodge it and they didn’t want to get hit and it’s so unfair/cold/wet/blah blah/tattling… sheesh. I’m about done with winter now.

So the twins are starting to get devious about their twinness; on vacation, my friend was talking to Evan, who let her believe he was Owen for half the conversation, then pulled a “Just kidding! I’m Evan.” and ran off laughing at her… Their first day back at school and they come down stairs dressed identically (right down to the socks) and declare their intention to fool their teachers. I don’t think it will work, they’ve had the same teachers for nearly two years now, but the intention was there. So here we go… at least they haven’t tried to ritually sacrifice anyone yet.

That storm dumped nearly 30 cm on us. My neighbour with the snow blower was away (nice and warm in California) so I shovelled it all out, took a few days. This weekend was glorious and sunny (not warm enough to melt the snow mountains everywhere though) and this whole week is supposed to be overcast and cool :( Welcome to spring!
BUT some happy news: ‘Trooper Tricks’ won third in the Woot derby, and the very angry angels and demons shirt is available in the honourable mentions side sale :)

Oh man, worst weekend ever. Owen has the runs Friday night, by Sat afternoon Jim is puking. Sat night both of the other boys are vomiting in their beds… the nice weather finally arrives and we spend all Sun in bed (when not running to the bathroom). LOVELY.

I feel like I’m perpetuating winter with this arc; it was +15 and sunny today. I took the kids for a long walk and would have loved to soak up as much sun as possible, but the wind was still cold :( But summer is coming! Finally :D

Something silly on Neato :)
No more snow! Here and in real life :) Though today was really cold, last Thursday was +30 with the humidity! Give me a month and I’ll be on here complaining about the heat. But seriously, the weather is weird. We had a temperature during the day of about +26 degrees, hot sun with a breeze, it was gorgeous. Northern Ontario had record freezing rain…
And Owen peed himself in a toy store, a couple of minutes after I asked him if he had to go of course. We’ve had some issues at restaurants before but this was a first. God these things are so embarrassing, and the place was busy so I’m waiting in line so I can let them know and ask for something to clean up with. The cashier waved me off, we’ve got stuff, this happens a lot, would you like me to gift wrap this? Lol… children.

Holiday Monday bbq with the neighbours and I’m making zucchini brownies, zucchini/sweet potato baked “tater tots”, and lemon zucchini bread… because I’m cheap and got older zucchinis on sale at Farmboy :) I’ve made the brownies before (they were super moist!) but here’s hoping I didn’t mess up the other ones as all the stores are closed so there’s nowhere to buy back up desserts if I burn everything…

Just a head’s up for all you art and tee enthusiasts: there’s a TON of t-shirt and etc sales sites on line and if you find one that doesn’t credit the artist, you can pretty much assume it’s stolen. Plus if you buy from them, you’ll likely get an inferior print since their source is a lo res jpg ripped from the web. If you can’t be bothered to make your own art (or licence designs FROM the artists) then you’re not likely to clean up your files for better print quality.
Anyway, they’ve been annoying for awhile, but I’m not sure why there’s a sudden surge on some of my designs in particular in the last couple of weeks, to the point where I’m seeing FB ads with my stolen work up for sale… awesome. Teechip (and Moovietee, and Wolverine Tee, and Sunfrog, and there’s many more I’m not remembering) kindly go die in a ditch.
On a happier note: The new ‘Unstealthies Ninja‘ tee AND my crazy dragon lady both got printed at Woot! Thanks for the votes guys!

Got to see Wonder Woman yesterday! LOVED it! Except for that part at the end… but it was really fun, and Gal Gadot is amazing, and Chris Pine is my favourite of the Chrises (how would one pluralize Chris?? And if you cared here’s my order: Pine, Evans, Pratt, Hemsworth) but ANYWAY, there were little girls in the theatre dressed in costumes and they were so adorable and my neighbour hit me and said “WHY didn’t WE dress up too?!” so yeah, it was a glorious afternoon (we also stuffed ourselves with sushi and I introduced another woefully ignorant friend to the wonder that is the deep fried sesame ball).

31 degrees today! I did a 10k Father’s Day run this morning, super humid already at 8 am. Not my best time, but still under an hour, and I walked part of it as my running partner’s hip was going…and then I negated all that effort by eating too much at dinner. Go me!

My little twins turned 6 on Tuesday; they’re now too old to count on one hand :( Time flies for sure and it’s hard to reconcile those tiny preemies in incubators to where they are now. Though they’re still a little small for their age, and I’m fine with that :) And they’re funny: they’re pick for dinner was sushi because they wanted octopus balls! And octopus sushi! And crab meat! And salmon rolls! And custard buns! And they pretty much ate anything I put on their plates. Meanwhile, I’ve had some of their friends over and tried to make custom pizzas with them and these kids won’t eat any veggies, some don’t want pepperoni, one wanted nothing but cheese AND he didn’t want the cheese melted. Another one wouldn’t eat the pizza crust… I’m not sure I could handle that level of pickiness on a daily basis.
